Metamorphosis
Metamorphosis exhibition loosely explores the idea of transformation, in terms of the natural and supernatural, the real and imagined, from idea to object or image and from present events to memory or souvenir. In both artists work it is possible to catch glimpses of legendary transformations; the ancient Greek character Daphne and her tragic transformation into a tree; the Dantean figure of Pier della Vigna whose soul is transformed into plant. Daphne, nymph daughter of river God Peneus, flees the advances of Apollo as she does not return his love. When Apollo captures Daphne she cries out to her father for refuge and in that moment is transformed into a tree.
